New Update 01-10-08 - Fishing in WA

Guess what ? ! ! - James & I finally went fishing in WA. (we had already done some in Darwin which should be on the blog soon).
The Manager of the campground we are at offered to take us out and have a go. The place is called Portsmith - about 150kms-ish South of Broome - and right at the top of the well known 'Eighty Mile Beach'.
We only went off-shore between 1 to 2 miles.
It's an area that really doesn't get the amount of fishing that I suppose most of the coast does.

Here's the catch.
1 Golden Trevally,
a few Mackerel
a 'Skippy' - whatever that is???

PLUS - we also caught a couple of Red Emperor...BUT they were 1cm... YES 1cm undersized. Poo's. (Minimum of 41cm here)
Also a cod and a couple of 'Butter-fingers', and a couple of Snapper which also went back. They were all what I thought was a decent size though.

And..... I DIDN'T throw up !! - Yahoo.
Most of this was all caught in the first 1/2 hour.

James - is so happy - as the photos show

Great stuff, James. Well done Rob on NOT chucking up!!
I want to know who did the de-scaling?

Yeah - it was awesome.
My stomach was right on the edge though. James was fine.

NO 'De-scaling'
NO 'Gutting'
Just fillet the sucker and then de-skin the the fillet the same way. ie. Turn the fillet over (skin down) and remove skin with fillet knife. Very clean.

and..... all done by the guy who took us out ! ! !
So we had some fish THAT night and........... the next morning he delivered some more fish to us - already cryovac'ed(?Spelling) and frozen.
How's that for service??
