Leaving the Devils Marbles.This is only a TINY part of many, many piles of these things.
All of a sudden the scenery changed - and there were TREES and what's that other stuff ??.... Oh yeah .. Grass. This change in scenery all happened in the space of a couple of 100 kms.Boy there's a lot of straight road out here ! !

Yeah Carl - A pretty cool Commer Van. Not too sure the year.
Dad may fill us in with that info.
We used it for a 7 week trip up the centre of Aus in mid-1977.
(Mostly dirt roads back then from Port Augusta to Alice (incl Dirt out to Ayers Rock). Alan Wall and family were in Katherine at the time (post Cyclone Tracey)
Dad actually did most of the 'fitting out' himself.
From memory, it wasn't the most reliable thing - but it got us there.
